The Director of Theater, Brian Frishman, teaches Middle School and High School theater electives and directs and produces shows in both divisions.
High School productions over the last few years include Bronte by Polly Tale, the musical Babes in Arms by Rodgers and Hart, Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, Moliere’s The Learned Ladies, Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring, The Paper Chase by Joseph Robinette, Our Miss Brooks by R.J. Mann, Phantom Limb - a play about bullying written by the Playwriting class, and a play with music and dance about fracking by Mr. Frishman. Recent Middle School plays include Bewitched and Ghost Stories.
In addition to the year-long drama course, other High School classes offered are Film as Literature, Intermediate Acting, Playwriting, and Screenwriting. The school is a member of the International Thespian Society, which honors outstanding High School actors at an annual dinner.
Mr. Frishman has a B.A. from California State University, Sonoma, a M.F.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Teaching Certificate from the University of California, San Diego.
