Is tuition assistance available?
Yes. Sacramento Country Day awards more than $3 million dollars in assistance each year. Country Day is committed to helping families from socio-economically diverse backgrounds access a Country Day education.
Sacramento Country Day uses School and Student Services (SSS), an online service of the National Association of Independent Schools, to process our tuition aid applications. Tuition aid awards are ultimately determined by the School’s Tuition Assistance Committee.
Does Country Day offer tuition payment plans?
Yes. We offer one, two, and ten payment plans for your convenience. Payments can also be made by credit card with a 2.85% convenience fee.
Does Country Day offer scholarships?
Yes. Each year, Country Day awards two high school scholarships to new ninth grade students through our Country Day Scholars Program, designed to reach students from underserved communities. Scholars must demonstrate financial need and qualify for need-based assistance in accordance with the School’s guidelines as well as demonstrate exceptional promise in one or more of the following areas: academics, leadership, innovation, arts, and service.
Does your school offer a sibling discount?
Rather than offer an automatic discount for siblings, we encourage you to apply for tuition assistance so that your family’s circumstances can be considered.
How much Tuition Assistance is typically awarded?
While every family’s situation is different, Country Day strives to be able to provide a wide range of help to as many eligible families as possible. The average tuition assistance award can be as high as $11,000 per student each year.
When does the Tuition Assistance application open?
The Tuition Assistance application window opens each year in September and the deadline for newly enrolling families is February 15, 2023.
Do returning families need to reapply for Tuition Assistance?
Yes. Each year that a family is seeking Tuition Assistance they are asked to reapply.
Is technology included in tuition?
Tuition covers the cost of personal technology devices for Grades 6-12. Students in 6th-8th grade are issued Chromebooks. Grades 9-12 use MacBook Air computers. Lower School students have access to iPads via mobile carts.
Are textbooks included in tuition?
There is no charge for textbooks from Pre-K – Grade 5. All students in Grades 6-12 purchase their own textbooks, a standard practice at independent schools.
Are there any other costs not covered in tuition?
Class trips for Grades 4-12 are an additional cost, as are our hot lunch program, extended care and/or after-school programs.
Is Tuition Assistance available for mid-year applicants?
Tuition Assistance applications may be completed for candidates joining us during the school year; however, tuition assistance funding for a particular school year is largely allocated during the previous winter and spring months and availability is significantly limited for mid-year applicants.
Is tuition prorated for mid-year applicants?
Yes. Tuition for qualified mid-year candidates is prorated for most entry months.
Do Tuition Assistance awards need to be paid back?
No. Country Day’s Tuition Assistance awards are grants, not loans, and do not need to be repaid.
