Friday Message from Lee – October 2, 2020

Dear Country Day Families,

This week, we welcomed our kindergarten and 1st grade students back to campus. While we know that the school day looks starkly different from previous years, the excitement of our students and their readiness to explore new things was exactly the same. It is truly heartwarming to see students so eager to learn and enlivened to be back in the classroom. We are working hard to maintain that same sense of connection with our students who choose to participate from home. It was wonderful to see so many faces zooming in and participating with their peers.

On the same day we welcomed back our 1st grade in-person learners, we launched this year’s newly re-named and shortened Country Day Fund “50 Days of Giving.” To mark the beginning of our annual giving campaign, we were treated to a fun new video highlighting all that a Country Day education has to offer – from excellent academics and social-emotional learning to world languages and visual arts to chemistry and robotics. All of these things and more are the hallmarks of the robust, personal, and dynamic education we deliver to our students each and every year.

What you don’t see in the video, however, is all of the work and partnership it takes to ensure our school can continue to serve our students and families during this historic global pandemic. We depend on the generosity of our employees, alumni, grandparents, parents, and friends. We depend on the participation of our entire community in the Country Day Fund to ensure that we can continue to swiftly and effectively respond to the pandemic as well as ensure the vitality of our program in future years. The funds we raise through the Country Day Fund support our students, curriculum, faculty and staff, and every aspect of our school.

With your support, we will continue to adapt, learn, grow, and thrive as a school and community no matter what we face together. I encourage you to join me in supporting the Country Day Fund. Please don’t wait to show your support for Country Day. You can make an online gift today. You can make an online pledge today and pay any time before June 30, 2021. Whatever you choose, you are making a difference this year and for years to come.

Thank you for supporting the Country Day Fund.
