After-School Enrichment FAQs
Is ASE Camp available in the morning?
Yes, ASE for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade is available when school is in session from 7-8 a.m. in the Lower School Spanish Room. Parents are required to escort their child to the ASE Camp location. As required by our childcare license, before-school care is available to Pre-Kindergarten students from 7:30-8 a.m. by arrangement. Arrangements should be made by contacting the Director of Pre-Kindergarten Mitzi Mapa Contes.
Are there discounts for siblings attending ASE Camp or ASE Classes?
No, there is no discount for siblings attending ASE Camp or ASE Classes.
If my child attends camp before their ASE Class, are parents charged an extra fee?
No, effective September 2015, students attending ASE Classes will no longer be charged for participating in Camp before their Class begins. The Camp fee is now included in the Class cost. Once a student’s class is over, there is a 10 minute grace period before Camp charges begin.
Will my camper need to bring a snack to Camp each day?
Yes, all campers are encouraged to bring an afternoon snack.
What time does ASE Camp close?
Camp closes at 6 p.m. daily. (After 6 p.m., a late fee will be charged.) Habitual late pick up (5 times) will result in your child’s dismissal from the program. Due to licensing requirements, after-school care for students in pre-kindergarten concludes at 4:45 p.m.
How and why are the rules for pre-kindergarten students different?
As a condition of our child care license with the State of California, before- and after-school care for pre-K students is limited to certain times and subject to different rules. Please read the following guidelines carefully:
- Before-school care is available for pre-kindergarten students from 7:30-8 a.m. by appointment. Appointments must be made directly with our Pre-Kindergarten Director Mitzi Mapa Contes.
- After-school care is available from 2:45 p.m., when the regular school day ends, until 4:45 p.m.
For the 2019-20 school year, the cost is $9.50 per hour (billed on the half-hour). Pre-kindergarten students staying after school must remain in the pre-kindergarten classroom.
Pre-kindergarten participation is limited to a total of 12 students; therefore we strongly recommend making arrangements as soon as possible.
