After School Enrichment

Welcome to the ASE Program

In Country Day’s ASE program we strive to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade that inspires self-expression, encourages healthy relationships, and supports personal growth.

Our ASE program gives students the opportunity to pursue creative, intellectual, physical and social interests. When class is dismissed, students are able to work quietly in Study Hall, learn in Enrichment Classes, and exercise and socialize in Camp. Sometimes even sitting quietly at a picnic table with a good book or conversing with a friend or counselor is ideal.

Hours of Operation

Campus opens at 7:30 a.m. If your K-8 student needs ASE early-bird care between 7:30 - 8 a.m., please contact Joy Pangilinan to sign up your child. The early-bird rate is $11.50/morning for your student. PreK-8th grade students are not permitted on campus before 7:30 a.m.

The ASE Program is open 2:45 - 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., a late fee will be charged. The late pick-up penalty is $23 for the first minute and $1 for each additional minute. Habitual late pick-up (five times) will be cause for a child’s dismissal from the ASE Program.

ASE will be closed during all school holidays/closures. Please refer to the Holiday Calendar in CavNET.

Afterschool Camp K-5th

Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Start Time: 2:45 p.m.

Campers will be greeted and checked in to camp by ASE counselors, then escorted to the restrooms to wash hands prior to snack time. Campers will engage in age-appropriate activities with counselors until picked up by a parent no later than 6 p.m.

2nd - 5th Grades

Start Times:

3 p.m. for 2nd
3:10 p.m. for 3rd
3:15 p.m. for 4th-5th

Middle School Camp

Middle School Cars Siblings

No charge until 3:25 p.m.

If you have a lower school student (K-5 only) waiting for a middle or high school sibling, they are able to wait in the Lower School Plaza at no charge until 3:25 p.m., at which time a teacher or counselor will escort them to Middle School cars by the Main Office. There is no need for parents to sign out their children when using this service. Please contact your child's teacher and Joy Pangilinan to use this service.

PRE-K AFTERCARE

Fees & Plans

Plan 1

Plan 2

Plan 2 requires families to register in advance and pay for five hours a week for a four-week session to reserve their child's spot in the program. The average cost is $280 for the four-week session and any additional time over five hours a week will be charged an hourly rate of $14.00/hour.

Total billing will be based on usage. Hourly charges will be billed in half-hour increments. It is best to select this plan if your child's pick-up time will vary daily.

Plan 3

Plan 3 requires families to register in advance and pay for the entire 2024-2025 school year to reserve their child's spot in the program. The discounted rate for this plan is $11.00/hour.

Based on dismissal times, families will pay:

$5450 for Pre-K-2nd grade
$4500 for 3rd-5th grade
$4200 for 6th-8th grade

It is best to select this plan if your child's pick-up will be 6 p.m. daily for the entire school year.

Plan 4

Plan 4 requires families to register in advance and pay for five hours a week for the entire 2024-2025 school year to reserve their child's spot in the program. The average cost is $280 for the four-week session and any additional time over five hours a week will be charged an hourly rate of $14.00/hour.

Based on dismissal times, families will pay:

$2226 for Pre-K-2nd grade
$2226 for 3rd-5th grade
$2175 for 6th-8th grade

It is best to select this plan if your child will use a minimum of five hours a week for the entire school year. Total billing will be based on usage. Hourly charges will be billed in half-hour increments.

From the Director

During our After-School Enrichment (ASE) program, you'll often hear "1, 2, 3, eyes on me." You’ll also see campers running to the Big Toy as they begin to play Hot Lava Monster or Banana Tag with our energetic counselors. As you pass by the multi-purpose room, you'll see the theater class learning new improvisation games while the robotics class is preparing for their big competition. This is my happy place.

I treasure witnessing special moments as children continue to attend our ASE program year after year: seeing a child make their first shot during a game of knockout, witnessing conflict resolution without adult mediation, noting an older camper helping a younger friend through a difficult transition, and so much more.

Small groups and class sizes keep your child focused and challenged after school. Our enrichment classes range from music and movement to clay and game design. Our counselors are well-rounded high school and college students who enjoy planning and organizing activities suited for each age group. Our ASE teachers are often part of the school day program at Country Day. Those who we bring in from outside the school are highly qualified and experienced in the art of working with young people.
