Country Day Mock Trial

What is Mock Trial?

Mock Trial is a combination of speech, debate, and theater, where students play different courtroom roles as part of a simulation of a criminal trial. Students may portray detectives, medical experts, and eyewitnesses, give speeches and battle objections as attorneys, or command the court as bailiffs. No matter what role they play, all team members have the chance to travel to competitions around the country and develop valuable public speaking, analysis, and teamwork skills!

What’s special about Country Day Mock Trial?

Over the past three years, Country Day Mock Trial has become a formidable force in California high school Mock Trial, winning awards in Sacramento County year after year and, most recently, becoming semifinalists in the state championship.
