Kamilyn Davis, who goes by Ms. K on campus, has been directing the High School Choir here at SCDS since February and will be teaching 4th grade music starting in the fall. She has started and developed elementary music programs and conducted choirs for all grades at private schools here in Sacramento and in the LA area since she started teaching in 1998. She is a pianist and conductor as well as a music educator and has worked with local arts organizations since she moved here in 2006 such as the Sacramento Children’s Chorus, the SacPhilOpera Chorus, the Sacramento Women’s Chorus, the Yuba Sutter Master Chorale and the Sacramento Theatre Company. She is impressed with the kindness of the community here at SCDS and is looking forward to continuing Elena Bennett’s legacy of singing for social justice.
