Ines Matthew (Ochoa)
World Language, Lower School Spanish
Inés Ochoa is the Lower School Spanish teacher at Country Day. She is responsible for teaching the Spanish language and culture for grades K-5.
Inés spent her early childhood years living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 10, what was initially supposed to be a sabbatical year brought the family to California, where her father was a biochemist and researcher at the University of California, Davis.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Davis, and her Multiple Subject Credential from Chapman University. Some of her favorite areas of study while completing her undergraduate degree included Native American studies, Art, and Sociology classes.
Inés’ current hobbies include horseback riding, hiking and paddle boarding in Lake Tahoe, cooking, and decorating homes for friends and family.
