Sacramento Country Day School

Welcome from the PA

Hello and welcome to the Parents' Association of Sacramento Country Day!

We're so happy you're here. Our main goal is to create a warm and tight community for all families, students, and staffulty at Country Day. We're all about helping and creating fun social events for everyone to enjoy. We represent all of the wonderful parents, guardians, grandparents, step-parents, and other special people who nurture and care for our students.

If you want to become more involved, please check out the Parents’ Association Resource Board on CavNET. That’s where we keep our sign-up sheets and help-wanted postings. Participating with the PA is a great way to make a difference in our student's lives and build strong connections within our school community. Plus, it's a lot of fun!

Together, we can create a community that encourages growth, inclusivity, and unity.

Preet Kandola & Katie Deterding

Katie Deterding, Co-President

Katie is an amazing volunteer and last year, served as Vice President of Events. Her friendly personality and fantastic organizational skills made it possible for her to pull off an incredible Fall Family Festival. Katie and her husband John are proud parents of Henry (Pre-K) and Jack (Kindergarten), who are both super active in piano, soccer, and swim team activities. When she's not busy with the family business, a home remodel, or the PA, Katie loves taking Barre classes and coaching soccer in the Sierra Oaks League.

Preet Kandola, Co-President

Preet has been an active volunteer for the past four years and a board member for three years. She and her husband, Gav, are parents to Arya (in 3rd grade) and Gavin (in 4th grade). Preet enjoys volunteering because of the school's unique community. Soccer is a big part of life for the Kandolas. Besides working as an accountant, Preet is also involved with the Sacramento United Soccer Club, where her children play. Preet welcomes and encourages all families to attend or volunteer with PA activities to experience the joy it brings her. You can find Preet at PA events or on the pitch.

The Co-Presidents have overlapping two-year terms and oversee the daily operations of the Country Day Parents’ Association. They manage meetings and agendas, ensuring that all business is conducted according to the Parents' Association's agreements. The Co-Presidents act as primary parent liaisons with various members of the Country Day community.
