Sacramento Country Day School

Parent Organizations

In addition to a lively and diverse student community, Country Day parents are important members of our community, and dedicated to their children's academic success and overall well being at school. Country Day parent organizations offer countless opportunities to engage and connect!

Parents’ Association

The Sacramento Country Day Parents' Association's mission is to foster a united and inclusive community among all families, students, and staffulty at Country Day.Our Parent Executive Board leads the Parents’ Association (PA) and holds regular meetings that are open to all parents. During these meetings, we engage with school leaders, discuss events, hear committee updates, host speakers from our school and outside communities and brainstorm future opportunities for the PA to grow and support our school.

We rely on parent volunteers to help us plan and carry out school activities and to generate ideas that benefit our entire school community. Whether planning a luncheon for staff, hosting a coffee reception for parents, organizing parent and student socials, planning and executing school-wide or division specific events, or just greeting people with a friendly smile - every effort by members of the PA counts! Our Lower School Room Parents and Middle & High School Division Coordinators help keep the PA connected with their respective divisions and keep communication flowing throughout the school year.

Families of Color, Sacramento

Country Day’s Families of Color, Sacramento (FOCS) Affinity Group offers its members the opportunity to build community, strengthen inclusive practices, and share resources and connect on topics important to the development and support of children of color.

Affinity groups bring people together who share a particular identity (e.g. race, gender, religion, family status, etc.), so that they can speak to the experience of being a member of the group from the “I” perspective.

Affinity groups also provide space in which its members can explore issues of shared identity and experience, as well as affirm their emotional and intellectual responses to being part of a distinct subset of the community.

Country Day parents Amy Brown, Fenina Espinosa, and Kimberly Biddle are the coordinators of this group.

Grands & Friends

Country Day’s Grands and Friends, a group for grandparents, extended family, and family friends, is a great way for members to connect with our community in a meaningful way.

As the grandparents and friends of Sacramento Country Day School students, we are dedicated to helping our grandchildren succeed and to supporting Country Day.
