Pacha Mundi Brings the World to Campus

Pacha Mundi Day is a vibrant, all-school celebration that brings our community together to explore, share, and honor cultures from around the world. Designed to be interactive and family-friendly, this year marked our 4th annual event and invited students to experience global traditions through food, performances, and hands-on activities.

Parents and student groups came together to host cultural booths representing countries and regions from around the world, offering traditional foods, crafts, games, and interactive learning experiences. Local food trucks added to the celebration with global favorites from empanadas and jollof rice to churros and bubble waffles.

The afternoon included a dynamic performance lineup featuring Ms. Hoyos, Mr. Persall, Mr. Fuentes and their band, student performers Maricela Hanes ’29 and Ava Dunham ’26 with her Italian dance group, and a vibrant performance by the all-female band, Mariachi Bonitas.

This year’s event highlighted a wide range of cultures, including Norway, China, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Laos, India, Jamaica, France, the African continent, Argentina, and Nigeria. In addition, several student affinity groups and cultural organizations contributed experiences that reflect broader identities and shared traditions across communities.

At its heart, Pacha Mundi Day reflects our commitment to building a community where students are known, seen, and heard, and where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but celebrated. We thank Middle School Dean of Students, Ryan Hobbs, for his unwavering leadership on this event for the last four years. It's a day everyone on campus looks forward to!
