Country Day Stands Out in UC Admissions

recent San Francisco Chronicle analysis of University of California application and admission data for Fall 2025 college students highlights strong outcomes for Sacramento Country Day. Among private schools, Country Day stands out, with 88% of applicants admitted to the UC system; an improvement from our data in March of 2023, where we led Sacramento County with a 77% admit rate. We also had the highest acceptance rate for private schools in our county at UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Barbara.

Additionally, The Chronicle's combined data from 2022-2024 shows that we led our regional private school competition with 27% of Country Day applicants being admitted to the most selective UC campuses.*

Students applying to the UC system must complete at least 15 approved courses across seven subject areas and earn a minimum 3.0 UC GPA, with no grade below a C. At Country Day, all core academic courses and most electives meet UC requirements, providing students with a strong foundation for both admission and success.

Our Country Day graduation requirements make our graduates eligible for UC and/or CSU admission, and historically, our students are admitted across the UC system every year. As this year’s college application season concludes, early results show another strong cycle of UC acceptances. More exciting updates about our Class of 2026 college plans will be shared next month.
