Sacramento Food Bank Honors Country Day

Sacramento Food Bank Honors Country Day

Once again, Sacramento Country Day, through the leadership of Andrew B. ‘25 and his family, received the top fundraiser trophy from the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services for our Run to Feed the Hungry participation. Heather Steves from the Food Bank attended our Winter Homecoming Rally to present the trophy to Andrew and share the appreciation of their organization for the ongoing support of the Country Day community.

Andrew was the top individual fundraiser for the event, and raised over $4000, and the Country Day team raised $7,283, nearly double the next highest team. Our donation efforts are equivalent to 22,000 meals, as each dollar raised provides three meals for food insecure families in our area. Through your support, and the leadership of the Burr family, our community's habit of helping made a big difference.

Andrew has been at this all his years at Country Day and shares, “I'm super grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this event for Country Day's team for 13 years and to have been able to lead the team for the past five. We've accomplished so much over this period and have played a truly important role in the lives of many people in need. I can't wait to see what the team can do in the coming years, and I hope to follow along with our future success!”
