Ethan M. ‘29 recently competed solo in the Northern California Quiz Bowl Alliance California Cup, which consists of four quiz bowl tournaments held throughout the year. The qualifying tournament hosted 38 high school and middle school teams competing at various levels. Country Day was the only single person team. Out of the 150 total participants, Ethan ranked 4th in individual scores. Under the Novice level, Ethan/Country Day ranked #1 (as a single player, it was necessary for Ethan to compete at the novice level, which is still high school level questions).
Ethan ended the day with 5 wins and 1 loss and qualified for the 2025 Middle School National Championship Tournament in Chicago this May! He was also invited to compete in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments 2025 "Individual Player" National Championship Tournament, where individuals from around the world compete. Ethan also qualified to compete in the Small School National Championship Tournament.
