As the 2024–25 school year wraps up, we’re proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement by one of our 2025 graduates! Saheb Gulati’s work recently earned national attention in The Washington Post. He was recently featured in an article for his role in a national investigation into Instagram’s treatment of teen accounts. His work helped uncover ongoing concerns about how effectively the platform protects its youngest users; illustrating the gap between what social media companies say they do to protect teens and what actually happens on the platform.
"Gulati, who plans to major in computer science and philosophy in the fall at Stanford University, said the experiment taught him that young people need to become more aware of the power algorithms have over them. His advice: 'Try to maintain an active stake or interest in what’s getting shown in your feed.'"
Saheb's work on digital advocacy reflects the kind of critical thinking and civic engagement we value at Country Day. We’re proud to see his work making a national impact and contributing to the ongoing conversation about online safety for youth. Read the full article here.
