Fencing Wins for the Holtz Brothers
Daniel Holz '26 placed 15th at the Division 1 (senior) men's saber event at the October NAC. This was a stacked event of over 200 of the top fencers from all over the world and included five Olympians and many NCAA fencers. He fenced Eli Dershwitz, two time Olympian, for a spot in the top eight, and although not victorious, he had a great experience competing.
William Holz '24 also bested Division 1 NCAA fencers from Notre Dame and UNC Chapel Hill. William and Daniel’s performances at national tournaments this year now qualify them to represent Team USA internationally on the cadet (under 16) world circuit. They will be competing in Sofia, Bulgaria and Eislingen, Germany next month. Best of luck to these talented Cavaliers!
