Our High School Model UN team Jessica Kravchenko '26, Ryan Xu '25, and Siri Atluri '24 attended their inaugural conference this weekend in San Jose.
Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations, where students represent different nations in different UN committees. After researching their country's position, students work during the conference to debate and pass a resolution during committee, and have the opportunity to win awards, usually ranging from verbal commendation to best delegate.
Ryan Xu—at his very first conference—came away with the award for Outstanding Delegate (the "silver medal") in Disarmament and International Security. Siri Atluri brought home the gold as Best Delegate in Commission of Status of Women. Congratulations to our delegates!
