In the Spotlight: High School Faculty Collaboration

Our High School faculty team meets regularly to further their work under their theme of the year, “ACT compassionately, collaboratively, and intentionally to increase student safety and build a positive, powerful community.”

The goal of these meetings is to develop faculty collaboration to support our compassionate community as we excel at the highest level of secondary education.

  • How do we intentionally teach the community to act compassionately?
  • How do we build structure, consistency, and creativity within our departments, classrooms, and community?
  • So we continue to attract, support, and retain the diverse, thoughtful, and qualified students who embrace our mission and make our community

This week the team is analyzing the number of Country Day faculty who know each of our 170 high school kids very well and then intentionally building support for kiddos who might not have as many adults in their corner.

Head of School, Brooke Wells, shares that "a school as strong as Country Day doesn’t magically happen - it must be intentionally built within the context of our clear and powerful mission statement."
