In January, Patrick K. participated for a second time in the Carnegie Hall Crescendo International Competition. After achieving second place last year, he was awarded an excellent first place this year!
Learning the piano was Patrick's decision when he was five years old. Practice can sometimes be dull for children, and classical music is challenging to learn, so his piano teacher often encouraged him to participate in various competitions and performances to maintain his motivation for loving piano learning. Patrick initially registered for this prestigious competition through his piano teacher, and after participating in the preliminaries in Folsom and qualifying, he went on to New York.
Patrick says that “Carneigie Hall was really beautiful and big,” and that the moment of playing his piece was his favorite part of being there.
Patrick's family is very proud of him and shared this experience in the hopes that more friends from their Country Day family will also have the opportunity to join in the event together.
