First Grade River Synergy

Music & Movement (M&M) Teacher Ashlie Kirby was inspired by our first grade study of rivers, so she worked with the students to make water dances based on the book I Can Make a Water Dance. Our first grade teachers were so inspired by the water dances they were making, and then they came into M&M class and took photos of the students dancing to make their OWN version of the book. The result is not only incredibly deep learning but first grade students empowered as writers, dancers, and creators!
