SCHOOL

Our Pre-K through 12th grade co-ed students enjoy small class sizes and a dynamic learning environment on our expansive campus. Recognized by Niche's as Sacramento's #1 private K-12 school, and the #1 private high school, STEM high school and college prep high school, our commitment to excellence in education, and an inclusive and supportive community, ensure our students achieve their individual potential.

OVERHEARD

“Too many people are afraid to make a mistake. Accepting failure helps students develop a growth mindset, which will serve them well for the rest of their lives.”

Dr. Kellie Whited, Science Department Chair and Biology Teacher

“What I hope I see is a student body that feels they are empowered to name any issue that they see– it's their campus. We want every student and faculty member to see this as their home.”

Rachelle Doyle, Director of Advancement

“Being able to be yourself in a safe space is nice; everyone knows you and there is less judgment. There is no culture of having to be perfect at everything, this is a community here to support you.”

Juliette ‘24

"I met genuinely kind people here, and I can't stress how important it is that when you feel comfortable, you do better in academics, sports, everything."

Garrett '25

“The garden belongs to everybody. Everybody does the work. Everybody does the chores. And everybody shares the bounty. So there's a lot of taking care of each other that way.”

Rory Tira, Garden Supervisor

"The learning system at Country Day revolves around one's passion. Every schedule is customized to pursue your dreams, and the flexible environment enables me to excel in my passions inside and beyond the classroom."

Brenden '28

HAPPENING IN THE HALLS

Business & Finance at Country Day

Faculty member Brian Hemsworth joined our community last fall as a Middle School Math teacher and High School DECA team advisor. Mr. Hemsworth also teaches Money Matters and Businesses, Bosses, & Brands electives in the Middle School. He was recently included in Next Gen Personal Finance's recognition of the newest group of Distinguished Educators. He joins just over 1,500 teachers nationwide.

Where Curiosity Takes Shape: Sophomore Research Showcase Debuts

The inaugural Sophomore Research Showcase brought the High School quad to life as every member of the Class of 2028 presented the culmination of months of inquiry, analysis, and independent thinking. Their nearly fifty projects were on display, reflecting an impressive range of interests from the global impact of the Sikh diaspora, to the economics of the collectible sneaker resale market, to the cultural significance of the 1992 Olympic basketball “Dream Team,” and beyond.

Pacha Mundi Brings the World to Campus

Pacha Mundi Day is a vibrant, all-school celebration that brings our community together to explore, share, and honor cultures from around the world. Designed to be interactive and family-friendly, this year marked our 4th annual event and invited students to experience global traditions through food, performances, and hands-on activities.

Where Service Meets Impact: A Student’s Journey to Rulindo

Over Mid-Winter Break, Mayuri K. ‘28 traveled to Rwanda and was offered a powerful reminder of what it means to learn beyond the classroom. Visiting our sister schools in Rulindo, Mayuri experienced vibrant, joyful learning environments where curiosity and ambition thrive, even in the absence of basic resources like books, technology, and classroom materials.
