To Our Prospective Students and Families,
Stephen T. Repsher
Since 1964, SCDS has been educating the hearts, minds, and bodies of children from Sacramento and the surrounding six-county area as the only fully-accredited, independent, PK-12, coeducational, college preparatory school in the region.
Located in a leafy suburban neighborhood of Sacramento, the school embraces the ideals of a liberal arts education. We encourage our students to develop the full range of their capabilities – intellectual, physical, creative, social, and moral, and we cultivate in them the habits and skills that will enable them to lead fulfilling lives. We also strive to educate the heart, emphasizing the values of responsibility, compassion, kindness, and respect.
In developing their reasoning abilities, students learn to distinguish opinion from fact, to discern truth from falsehood, to think critically about the world around them, and to make connections from among ideas in different disciplines. They learn about themselves, develop their strengths, come to understand who they are and their role in the world to effect positive change, and graduate as confident and capable young men and women.
A hallmark of Country Day is the close mentoring relationship that develops between students and teachers, and with a student-teacher ratio of 9:1, every child has a “front-row” seat. Students have unfettered access to our comprehensive academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs. All of our graduates are accepted to four-year colleges and universities and many attend some of the most selective in the nation. In addition, our warm, nurturing environment promotes deep and lasting friendships among our students, faculty, alumni, and their families.
I invite you to visit our campus to learn more about Sacramento Country Day. We look forward to meeting you.
